The Real Disaster Strikes
The man confessed to the murder, describing how he killed and preserved the body. After hiding the body in the closet, he bought two bottles of cockroach spray and an industrial fan to blow day and night.
Within two days, a tenant came to view the house. The man drove to another county to destroy the remaining evidence and had a friend hand over the keys...
Such a ridiculous and cruel murder case, without any meticulousness, was not discovered by anyone.
Next is the testimony of the tenant, Cindy.
"I came to rent the house around June...I saw the rental information online and happened to be nearby, so I called the landlord to ask for a viewing."
The environment of the community was quite nice, and she checked out the buildings, some were by the roadside and very noisy, while others were inside and relatively quiet.
"I wanted to see which building the house was in, if it was by the roadside, I wouldn't have bothered to see it..."
The landlord seemed very busy that day, and spoke hurriedly. Cindy asked for some information about the house, such as which building and floor it was in, whether it had a balcony, and so on. The landlord just hastily said that the house was in building 2, on the 11th floor facing the community, with a balcony, and not very noisy, then hung up the phone.
Cindy was still very scared when she thought back to it now. Thinking carefully about the time, wasn't it the same time when the landlord committed the murder?
"The landlord says he wasn't there, but since I had already come..."
Cindy didn't actually know which house it was, but just listened to what the landlord said and went to take a look at building 2.
It happened to be the building closest to the inside of the community and was very quiet.
The police officer asked, "Did you go up to take a look then?"
Cindy nodded, "I was already downstairs and felt like it was a wasted trip if I didn't take a look...I just wanted to see if it was noisy on the 11th floor."
Although she often stayed up late and had poor sleep, she was easily awakened by loud cars passing by.
Just then, someone came down in a hurry with something in their hands, and the door to the building opened, so she went in.
The police officer looked at Cindy when he heard this.
Most people, upon hearing that the landlord was not there, and they couldn't view the house, would choose to leave. But not Cindy, she still went up even without anyone to show her around.
However, there are indeed people with such personalities, who are not willing to give up even if it's a futile effort.
"The surveillance footage shows that when you entered the building, the person who came out of the door was xxx (the landlord), do you remember him?"
Cindy's face immediately turned pale.
"What... it's just the landlord?"
She panicked, "I didn't pay too much attention..."
Cindy thought carefully again, "I only remember that he seemed very anxious to leave, and when he opened the door, he accidentally hit it."
The police officer nodded, "Think again, are you sure it's your current landlord?"
Cindy turned pale and shook her head after thinking for a while, "I'm not sure..."
She hurriedly passed by and didn't pay attention.
Later, she went up to the 11th floor and arrived at the side of the community that the landlord had mentioned, which had two houses, but she didn't know which one it was.
"I only stayed outside the corridor for a while, listened to the sound outside, and confirmed that the car horn on the street couldn't be heard over here..."
She was very satisfied with that house, took down the landlord's phone number, and left after making an appointment to see the house next time.
After Kellen and Susie listened to the statements of the two people, Kellen asked, "So, did you find anything?"
Susie looked at the female ghost and asked, "What about you? Did you find anything?"
The female ghost stared at the killer and suddenly followed him.
Kellen asked again, "What did she say?"
Susie pointed to the floating female ghost and said, "She's going to find that uncle! Dad, let's wait for the female ghost sister here!"
Kellen casually pulled out a chair and sat down, pouring Susie a glass of water and grabbing a handful of cookies from a team leader's desk.
It felt like his own home...
"Are you sure she will come back?" Kellen asked as he helped Susie open the packaging of the cookies.
Susie nodded, "She will definitely come back."
"If she doesn't come back, we'll release the ghost auntie to catch her," the little one said fiercely.
Kellen remained silent.
He suddenly asked, "Do people react immediately after they die?"
Susie shook her head, "Not necessarily. Some people don't react and continue doing what they were about to do, like the woman who was hit by a car while buying vegetables. She might continue walking back and forth on the road. Some people may stare at their own bodies in shock, while others' souls may fly far away before finally finding their bodies."
Kellen thought for a moment. Susie had said that when people die suddenly or painfully, they might forget everything they experienced in life and instinctively follow the first person they see.
He understood and concluded, "The landlord killed Julissa and chose to escape immediately. The female ghost probably didn't react, so she didn't see the landlord at first."
"Cindy happened to be on the 11th floor and lingered in the hallway for a moment, so she became the first-person Julissa saw."
That's why the female ghost followed Cindy and mimicked everything she did. She was also familiar with the house because she had lived there before.
Susie was amazed and said, "Wow, Dad, you're so smart!"
Although the female ghost hadn't confirmed it yet, it was most likely true.
Soon, the female ghost came back, looking resentful and angry as she remembered her life before death. She recounted arguing with her boyfriend who accused her of cheating, constantly checking her phone, and demanding to know her whereabouts and sending videos.
Because of this incident, she was ridiculed by her female friends, and when she refused to show her boyfriend her phone, they fought, and he hit her with a rolling pin.
The female ghost couldn't remember who she was or how she died when she first saw her body. She instinctively followed Cindy and only found her body after returning with her. It was sealed up when she found it.
Everything is revealed here. Cindy will never know that she unknowingly stood at the door of Room 1102 that day and was haunted by a female ghost ever since.
On the way back, Kellen sighed, "As expected, our ancestors were right when they said not to be nosy. It's true..."
For example, in some places where there is a car accident, and several people die. Some people like to gather around and watch, but they might unknowingly bring back the ghost of someone who died in the accident.
"Isn't that the reason?" Kellen asked.
But he found Susie lying on the back seat, holding a pillow in her arms, and sleeping like that...
Kellen, who had always been unruly, drove the car very gently to a nearby parking lot.
Then he went to the back seat and picked up Susie, adjusting the seat back to the passenger seat.
He comfortably half-lay on the seat, while Susie was lying in his arms...
There was a touch of tenderness in Kellen's eyes, and his large palm gently stroked the little girl's back.
"Sleep... little Taoist."
He hooked his lips, "Dad is getting closer and closer to the great Taoist and will be with you in the future."
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a sudden screeching of brakes outside the parking lot, followed by a loud collision sound.
Bang!
Kellen turned his head instinctively, only to see a person who was hit flying across the road and landing with a bang on his windshield.
The person died with eyes wide open, bleeding from seven orifices.
Kellen was caught off guard and made eye contact with the deceased. The dead person's eyes stared directly at his eyes.
Taoist Morton remained silent.
