Secret Surveillance
Susie Murray, seeing Wade Murray looking depressed, patted his shoulder like an adult and said, "Young man, don't be so down!"
Wade Murray was frustrated and replied, "I'm not a young man."
Susie Murray paused for a moment and then said, "Little child, don't be so down!"
After about an hour, Alana Murray shouted downstairs, "It's time to eat! Susie Murray, come down quickly."
"Hamza Murray, Wade Murray, Zion Murray, Lucy Murray!"
Alana Murray called out each name one by one. The children upstairs immediately responded with either running or dragging their feet.
Susie Murray must have been the one running, and Zion Murray was undoubtedly the one dragging his feet.
In Lucy Murray's room, she was doing her homework.
She looked up pitifully and said, "Daddy, can we eat first?"
David Murray was silent and stubborn.
He had just said that she couldn't go find Susie Murray or eat until she finished her homework, and he wasn't going to let her go now.
Lucy Murray was indulged by Mara Warner before, and couldn't even recognize a single character.
She was six years old this year and would start primary school next year.
Her two older siblings were both academic overachievers, and Susie Murray was also clever and sharp. Only his two children were either lacking in common sense or addicted to games. As a father, it was impossible not to feel the pressure.
Lucy Murray cried, "I'm only in kindergarten! Why do I have to do homework when other kids don't?"
David Murray remained expressionless and said, "Other kids are other kids, and you are you."
He had spent the whole morning writing just a few words, and he was almost unable to control his power.
Lucy Murray had no choice but to cry and write at the same time...
Just then, Sylvia came upstairs holding a large bouquet of flowers. She walked so quietly that she was like a ghost...
She passed by Lucy Murray's room, approached quietly, and her eyes rolled around as she peeked inside.
After watching for a while and feeling there was nothing interesting, she walked away satisfied, placing bouquets in each room and taking a peek inside each one quietly.
Downstairs, the spacious dining room was lively, and Alana Murray asked Kellen Morton to leave some food for David Murray and Lucy Murray.
The Murray family felt suffocated as Kellen Morton brought out a few dishes, but the boiled chicken was okay, as it was just boiled in water and taken out. It was his most successful dish.
Next came the minced meat and eggplant dish, which Alana Murray scooped up with a spoon and found it to be watery and unappetizing, "This, what is this..."
Kellen Morton remained calm, "I've tasted it, and although it doesn't look like much, it tastes great."
Alana Murray's mouth twitched, "Um..."
She then picked up a large piece of dark gray shiny stuff and asked, "And what is this?"
Kellen Morton replied, "Eggplant."
Alana Murray understood the reasoning behind it, but she couldn't help but ask, "Why didn't you cut it?"
Kellen Morton found it strange, "Isn't it cut?"
One eggplant cut in half, cut evenly!
The Murray family, "..."
Martin Murray silently picked up a piece and said, "It's good."
Each person was assigned a piece, and if it wasn't delicious, they all ate it together, which was fair.
Hopefully, he'll do better next time... Otherwise, they won't be able to take it!
Michael Murray stared and couldn't help but mutter, "This 'delicious' eggplant must be saved for the youngest."
Ryan Murray smiled and said, "It's a shame that the others aren't here to try this delicious eggplant. We'll have to make it for them separately next time."
Kellen Morton nodded in agreement and said, "Okay." Susie Murray finished a bowl of egg flower soup, with a bit of egg stuck to the corner of her mouth. She smiled broadly and gave a thumbs-up, saying "Good stuff!" Kellen Morton smirked. As they say, a daughter is a close little cotton jacket, and this ancient saying is true. The next second, Susie Murray forcefully picked up a piece of eggplant and put it in her mouth. In her heart, she thought, "Uncle Wu and Uncle Xiaojie said that this eggplant is delicious, so it must be good." The Murray family was shocked and said, "Susie Murray..." But before they could say anything, Susie Murray spat it out, exclaiming, "Ugh, it's so gross!" She wondered why her grandpa and grandma and the others enjoyed it so much when it was so difficult to eat. The poor little girl looked up and apologized, saying, "Sorry, Daddy. It's too bad. I really can't praise it." Kellen Morton was speechless. One moment his daughter was doing well, the next moment she was leaking air. Was it really that bad? Martin Murray and the others seemed to be enjoying it just fine. Kellen Morton picked up a piece and took a bite, but couldn't help coughing and grabbing the nearby water glass to take a sip. He silently said, "It's okay. I can't praise it either." The others couldn't help but smile, and Zion Murray laughed heartily. Craig Murray's stern expression gradually softened. It didn't matter how many points it scored, as long as Susie Murray liked it and approved of it, that would be one hundred points.
After putting down the bouquet, Sylvia quietly went downstairs, peeking into the dining room. The entire Murray Family was in splendid and luxurious surroundings, enjoying themselves and having fun. Sylvia couldn't help but feel a twinge of resentment. Why were they able to live so well? Even though the air in Pretty Land was sweet, why were they happier than her? With the flower basket in one hand and the flower shears in the other, Sylvia couldn't help but clench her fists. At that moment, Kellen Morton suddenly turned his head, and Sylvia was so frightened that she dropped the shears. Hearing the noise, the Murray Family turned around. Sylvia quickly picked up the shears and apologized, "Sorry...I accidentally dropped the scissors." Then she ran away like she was escaping. Kellen Morton watched Sylvia's back and said faintly, "This gardener has some problems." Alana Murray frowned, also feeling that Sylvia's behavior was particularly strange today. However, she personally supervised the gardener, who was responsible for changing and arranging the flowers in the estate gardens. It was like hiring a cleaner to clean the master bedrooms, so she must have trusted Sylvia's character to select her.
"Maybe she's not feeling well, or maybe something's going on at home. I'll ask her later." Kellen Morton didn't say anything more.
Later that night, Kellen Morton stayed in a guest room. He looked around the room, which had a decor that leaned towards earthy colors, with a grey bed, grey and white wardrobe and bedside table, as well as a single sofa and a small coffee table. There was no extra furniture, but it suited his personality. It was obvious that it had been intentionally decorated.
Kellen Morton lazily sat on the sofa and opened his phone, pulling up a photo of Clara Murray. He looked at it silently for a long time and murmured, "I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to know you."
He had heard that the person Clara Murray was most worried about before she died was Susie Murray. Regardless of the reason, he would take care of Susie Murray. "Don't worry. Rest in peace if you find out in the netherworld."
Lucy Murray, who was finally let out by David Murray, ate her food heartily, having forgotten her picky eating habits from before. After finishing her meal, she took her bowl to the dishwasher and ran upstairs, shouting, "Susie Murray! Susie Murray! Come and play!"
Susie Murray poked her head out of her room and said, "Big sister, I'm here."
Lucy Murray turned on a dime and said, "Ah, I suddenly feel so tired. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed."
Susie Murray, "..."
